Wolfpack Wedding at The Gregg Museum of Art & Design

Garden Inspired Wedding at The Gregg Museum of Art & Design in Raleigh NC

For a couple of Wolfpack sweethearts, getting married by NC State University campus at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design was an alma mater dream come true. With a historic home, a tiered garden and modern art galleries, this new Raleigh wedding venue combines history with contemporary architecture. Wedding planner Sally Oakley Weddings & Events designed a serene ceremony in the Gregg’s historic garden and a reception under a clear tent in the front lawn. This garden inspired wedding featured tons of NC greenery, burgundy, navy, and splashes of pink and yellow. Photographer Robin Lin captured this charming Gregg museum wedding.

A Love Story ~Designed~ in NC State Heaven

Carrie and Raymond unknowingly walked across the NC State College of Design graduation stage together. Who knows how many times they passed each other on the brick pathways of Raleigh’s beloved campus! Five years after graduation, Carrie and Raymond hit it off at a restaurant opening. The two lovebirds got engaged during the Christmas season, at home with their dog as witness – perfect for the self-proclaimed homebodies. Raymond purchased the sparkling engagement ring from Diamonds Direct, and the rest is history. Sally Oakley Weddings & Events understood that this reserved couple wanted a natural, stress-free wedding planning journey.

“Sally Oakley and her team are absolute pros with the kind of advice and connections earned through many years of experience!” said Carrie. “I’m so grateful we found Sally and her team – we couldn’t recommend anyone more.”

Intimate Garden Wedding Ceremony at Gregg Museum of Art & Design

Carrie and Raymond had a lovely wedding ceremony in the Gregg Museum’s garden with understated decor to highlight the venue’s natural beauty. The tiered garden right off of the historic home, which used to be home to the Chandellor of NC State University. The garden is an elegant space filled with professional landscape design, brick walls, and whimsical stone sculptures. Bridesmaids dressed in burgundy popped against the natural NC greenery. Carrie’s white lace covered bridal gown floated on air as she walked down the garden aisle. Raymond could not hide the smile on his face when he saw his soulmate glowing in bridal glory. The groom looked quite dapper and dashing in a navy suit and burgundy tie from Bernard’s Formalwear.
